SXSW announces 2020 Gaming Awards winners

Despite SXSW being cancelled this year due to coronavirus concerns, the organizing committee is still recognizing the great strides made in gaming in the past year. This is the seventh year that SXSW has recognized excellence in gaming.

Nominees and winners were selected by a combination of public voting and SXSW staff and advisory board members.

“Gaming is a key part of the creative ecosystem that brings us together, and now more than ever it provides us with a unique sense of escape and adventure in uncertain times," said Hugh Forrest, Chief Programming Officer for SXSW. "We were devastated that we weren’t able to celebrate our honorees in person with the cancellation of our event, but glad that we’re still able to share their achievements and creative works with our community."
