These are exciting times for fans of the Final Fantasy franchise. This summer we will see the release of Final Fantasy 16, and then later this year Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth—the second installment in the Remake trilogy that picks up where the first chapter left off.

But first, somebody needs to clean up Midgar with a power washer. And that you’re just the one to do it.

The oddly cathartic PowerWash Simulator game just got an unexpected shine-up with the release of a free Midgar update. The expansion pack features some of the game's most iconic items in need of a deep clean.

You begin at the Shinra building hosing off the Hardy-Daytona and the Shinra Hauler. Shinra needs these two vehicles cleaned so that they can be placed in an exhibition to help raise the morale of the citizens of Midgar. Then, you’ll hose off the Scorpion Sentinel in Shinra’s warehouse.

Then, you’ll find that Seventh Heaven is a complete mess after being Avalanche’s base of operations for so long. Here you’ll find some nice easter eggs as well such as the iconic weapons from Cloud and Barrett.

You wind up back at the Shinra building at the Mako Energy exhibit. This exhibit has seen better days, though, and now it is your responsibility to clean it up and make sure it is in the pristine condition that it was when it was first built. After all, how is Shinra going to be able to showcase their grand plans if it is all covered in dirt and mud?

Finally, it’s time to clean off the Airbuster mech from one of the remake’s more challenging battles. It’s an absolutely massive machine, and much like everything else here it has seen better days.

PowerWash Simulator is available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can download PowerWash Simulator for free to try it out.
