XCOM 2 PC version gets controller support
Nearly a year after its original launch, Firaxis has added built-in controller support for the PC, Mac, and Linux versions of XCOM 2.
According to this new update from Firaxis, the Steam PC version of XCOM 2 will now automatically detect plugged in controllers and will utilize a default control scheme which can be configured in a number of different ways. The addition of controller support also allows players to utilize XCOM 2’s mod-friendly nature and activate an optional first-person mode which lets them explore their home base from a more personal viewpoint. Detailed instructions for enabling the first-person mode can be found in the below walkthrough video.
The controller support update also paves the way for more expansive mod support such as total conversion mods. Future updates will continue to refine the experience on both PC and consoles.
