Upcoming Street Fighter V update is bad news for rage-quitters
If you have a habit of rage-quitting out of online matches in Street Fighter V, you might want to find ways of curtailing that habit before the game’s next update, otherwise the game will make sure that everyone knows of your unsportsmanlike conduct.
Sources on NeoGAF who have been digging through the test branch source code for Street Fighter V’s PC version found an interesting addition in the patch notes for an upcoming update:
"Special icons will be displayed on the Fighter Profiles of players who frequently disconnect, as well as those who never do, making it easier for players with the same icon to battle against each other.”
This system will likely prove to be quite a boon for the Street Fighter V community since it will both punish bad sports and reward players who stick it out to the end even when things look bleak. It’s also quite a far cry from back when Street Fighter V initially launched in February and had absolutely no anti-rage-quit mechanics to speak of. There’s no official word yet from Capcom when the new anti-rage-quit measures will be implemented, but it’s good to know that they’re on the way regardless.
