An upcoming Fallout 4 mod will be bigger than the Far Harbor DLC

Last week, Bethesda released Fallout 4’s Far Harbor expansion, a massive piece of DLC which allows players to explore a sizeable new region rife with new enemies, allies, and equipment to find. However, an upcoming fan-made expansion promises to be even bigger than Far Harbor, and since it’s fan-made, it will also be free.

Fallout Cascadia is a mod being made by a small team of 18 fans which will include “a land area that is just a bit smaller than Fallout 3, but more quests and locations than Fallout 4’s Far Harbor DLC" according to its Tumblr page. The mod will feature its own standalone storyline which is set in the city of Seattle several decades after the events of the main Fallout 4 campaign. Since Fallout Cascadia’s story is completely separate from Fallout 4’s, players will be required to create a brand new character when playing the mod.

Fallout Cascadia is being made on a volunteer basis by modders who work on it in their spare time, so there is currently no set release date. The team behind the mod is hoping to release it for both the PC and console versions of Fallout 4, but it was also careful to stipulate that there are currently no guarantees it will be able to port the mod over to consoles.
