Uncharted movie finds its footing and a new director

Last month, reports starting coming in which said that the long-in-development film adaptation of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series had been indefinitely delayed. Now, not only is the film back in active development, it has even landed a new director.

The latest director to try and tackle the Uncharted movie adaptation is Shawn Levy who is perhaps best known for directing all three films in the Ben Stiller Night at the Museum trilogy as well as the Vince Vaughn/Owen Wilson buddy comedy The Internship. More recently, Levy’s projects have shifted into the sci-fi realm as he both directed two different episodes of Netflix’s hit sci-fi/horror series Stranger Things and also produced the new Amy Adams sci-fi film Arrival.

Production on the Uncharted film is now apparently moving forward once again, though a projected release date and casting still haven’t been announced at this time.
