Street Fighter V gameplay, character tease revealed
Ever since its unofficial (followed by its official) debut before PlayStation Experience last weekend, Capcom's Street Fighter V has been making waves. This weekend, the typhoon continued at the Capcom Cup event in San Francisco, where not only did some new gameplay make a debut, but a returning character was hinted at as well.
In the video below, you can see Ryu and Chun Li go at it in extended bouts taken straight from the Capcom Cup event, complete with the ability to break into new areas – or finish off someone with a bowl of noodles on their head for good measure.
On top of that, an extended trailer for the game was unveiled (included below), and along with the fighting action we've come to expect, it also teased the return of a favorite character from the Street Fighter Alpha series, Charlie. His gameplay wasn't unveiled yet, but we're likely to see more very soon.
Speaking of the Capcom Cup, it was quite a draw, with thousands of people tuning in online. And better still, it's going to draw an even bigger crowd next year. Through a deal with Sony, the Pro Tour and the Cup will return next year, with a prize pool worth more than half a million dollars. That's a lot of Shoryukens.
Street Fighter V will release sometime next year for PlayStation 4 and PC.
