State of Decay 2 launching in May
State of Decay 2, a sequel to 2013’s State of Decay, was originally announced during Microsoft’s 2016 E3 Briefing. After a couple of delays and a long period of silence about the game, Microsoft have finally announced a May 22 release date.
The game will be an Xbox Play Anywhere game, where if you buy the game digitally, it’ll be playable both on Xbox One and Windows 10. Plus the game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox’s game subscription service, the same day the game launches.
State of Decay 2 Standard Edition will be $29.99, while the Ultimate Edition will be $49.99 and includes four days early access starting May 18, and two add-on packs, “Independence Pack” and “Daybreak Pack.” The Ultimate Edition also includes a console copy of State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition.
“Our goal is to build a long-term relationship with the State of Decay community and to foster deeper experiences with the franchise. We believe State of Decay 2 accomplishes this goal by immersing fans in the ultimate zombie survival fantasy, and we want to give more players the opportunity to join in and experience this unique game,” said Aaron Greenberg, General Manager of Games Marketing at Microsoft. “Whether you play as an Xbox Game Pass member, purchase the Standard Edition for $29.99, or the Ultimate Edition for $49.99 to get early access and additional content, you get a great game and a larger community to play State of Decay 2 with.”
