Showtime’s Halo TV series finds a new director
While Microsoft and 343 Industries has been trying to get a Halo TV show or movie off the ground for more than a decade, things started moving last year when Showtime signed on.
Initially, director Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) was attached to direct and executive produce the series but dropped out in December. Now Otto Bathurst (Black Mirror, Robin Hood) has signed on to direct and executive produce, according to Deadline.
The episode order of the series has also been cut down from 10 to nine, most likely due to the fact that production was supposed to start early this year, but was pushed back to later this year because of Wyatt exiting the series.
The pilot will be written by Kyle Killen (Mind Games, Awake) who will also be showrunner and executive producer. While we’re not sure how closely the series will follow the stories of the games, we have some good ideas of what would make the show pretty good.
