Several classic Electronic Arts games are now Xbox One backwards compatible

Microsoft has announced that a trio of iconic Electronic Arts games can now be played on the Xbox One console thanks to the wonders of backwards compatibility.

According to Xbox spokesperson Larry Hryb (a.k.a Major Nelson), the Xbox 360 versions of Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, and Dragon Age: Origins are all now playable on Xbox One. If you happen to still have your old Xbox 360 discs of the above games lying around, you can just pop them into your Xbox One and be good to go. Digital versions of Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Dragon Age: Origins should also work, though sadly only disc-based copies of Battlefield 3 are compatible with the program.

With these new additions, Battlefield fans can now play five different Battlefield games on their Xbox One (if you count newer games like Battlefield 4, Battlefield Hardline, and Battlefield 1). Unfortunately, Dragon Age fans will still need to keep their Xbox 360 around if they want to play the full trilogy since Dragon Age 2 hasn’t yet made the backwards compatibility cut.
