Resident Evil Revelations will get an Xbox One/PlayStation 4 re-release

Capcom has announced it is developing a new Xbox One/PlayStation 4 version of its sleeper-hit spin-off game Resident Evil Revelations.

Revelations was originally released back in 2012 for the Nintendo 3DS and was later remastered for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. According to this tweet from Capcom, the Xbox One/PS4 version will be available in both digital and physical formats and should arrive sometime this fall. It is not yet known whether the current-gen versions will contain any new features or content but Capcom promises more info will be available “soon.”

While its emphasis on campiness didn’t resonate with every Resident Evil fan, Resident Evil Revelation proved to be popular enough that it spawned a sequel, the episodic Resident Evil Revelations 2. Both games are perhaps best known for introducing the unique “Raid Mode” arcade-esque challenge mode.
