Rainbow Six Siege teases upcoming sci-fi co-op event, Outbreak
As part of Rainbow Six Siege’s first Year Three content update, Operation Chimera, developer Ubisoft announced the game’s first ever co-op event, Outbreak. Arriving on all platforms on March 6, Operation Chimera will introduce two new operators, both specializing in biohazard situations and biological warfare, who will be front and center for Outbreak.
Outbreak is a co-op event that will run from March 6 to April 3 that tasks three players with investigating a mysterious infestation in Truth and Consequences, New Mexico. The town has been quarantined and the new operators, who are from Russia and France, are called in to assist in eliminating a threat that has trapped civilians and soldiers. According to the press release, players will face “exploding monstrosities to hulking horrors” and “armored monsters” that “don’t take cover and engage instantly in close combat.”
Ubisoft plans to reveal more about the event and Year Three’s content during the Six Invitational finals in Montreal on February 17-18 via https://www.twitch.tv/rainbow6.
