Lee Chaolan and other fighters join Tekken 7’s roster

During this week’s ongoing Gamescom event, publisher Bandai Namco confirmed that Lee Chaolan will be joining Tekken 7’s roster and that players will be able to dress him up in his alternate “Violet” getup if they prefer.

Lee Chaolan has been a mainstay Tekken contender ever since the series’ very first entry, having appeared in every Tekken game with the one exception being Tekken 3. Lee’s “alter-ego” Violet (which is basically just Lee with purple hair and sunglasses), first appeared in Tekken 4 and also made a return appearance in Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

In addition to confirming Lee, Bandai Namco released several screenshots which also appear to confirm that players will be able to control a young boy version of Kazuya Mishima as he trains with his father Heihachi (the sequence will likely serve as both a training mode of sorts and as a prologue for the game’s story campaign). Lastly, one of Tekken 7’s brand new fighters will be a man named Claudio Serafino, the leader of a group of exorcists named the Archers of Sirius which have had conflict with the Mishima clan in the past.

After a prolonged period of Japan exclusivity, Tekken 7 is finally coming to North America sometime in 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Check out the Lee Chaolan reveal trailer below:
