Just Cause 3 gets a multiplayer mod
If you enjoy being able to unleash wanton destruction in Just Cause 3 but you feel it would be even better with friends, we have some very good news to share with you: a new mod for the game’s PC version lets you do just that.
Simply titled “JC3:MP,” the mod allows players to log into online multiplayer servers which can stick up to 100 different players into Just Cause 3’s game world at once. According to the mod’s creators, the open nature of JC3:MP’s API server means that users can easily create their own custom multiplayer-focused activities and game modes:
“Our modification opens the door to incredible multiplayer possibilities including racing, deathmatch, skydiving, roleplaying or freeroam. But it doesn't have to stop there: Thanks to our powerful scripting API server owners can easily create game modes on their own.”
You can find out more about the JC3:MP mod (or download it yourself) via the mod’s official website. The mod is currently in a beta form but the development team behind JC3:MP plans to get it up on Steam at some point within the next few months.
Interestingly enough, the team behind JC3:MP isn’t the same team behind the popular multiplayer mod for Just Cause 2. The Just Cause 2 multiplayer modding team originally had plans to create its own multiplayer mod for Just Cause 3 but those plans fell apart after the modding team’s lead creator was actually hired by Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios to work directly on the series.
