Fallout 4 PS4 mods are now available

At long last, mod support for the PlayStation 4 version of Fallout 4 is now available, finally making good on a promise from earlier this year.

Bethesda announced the arrival of PS4 mod support for Fallout 4 late yesterday evening, saying that Fallout 4 creation kit users should be prompted to download a new update which adds in the PS4 support.

Mod support was originally supposed to come to the PS4 version of Fallout 4 last summer but saw numerous delays as Bethesda butted heads with Sony over the logistics of getting mods onto the console. Back in September, it seemed as if the mod support deal had fell through much to the disappointment of PS4 players who had been patiently waiting all summer long, but then in October Bethesda and Sony finally managed to work out a deal, albeit with the caveat that mods on PS4 cannot use external assets.

Mod support is also available for the PS4 version of Skyrim: Special Edition, though with the same “no external assets” restrictions.
