Fallout 4 gets PS4 Pro support and hi-res texture pack for PC next week
If you found the graphics in Fallout 4 to be a little lacking and you happen to own a PlayStation 4 Pro and/or a high-end gaming PC, an upcoming update for the game is one you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on.
Bethesda announced via a recent blog post that, starting next week, both PS4 Pro and PC players will be able to utilize enhanced graphical capabilities. For PS4 Pro, a new patch will bring the game up to version 1.9 and will let PS4 Pro owners utilize the following enhancements:
- Native 1440p resolution
- Enhanced draw distance for trees, grass, objects and NPCs
- Enhanced Godray effects
As for PC owners, a new high resolution texture pack will introduce a similar series of graphical upgrades to the PC version of Fallout 4, though players will need to make sure they have an extra 58GB of free hard drive space and that their PC meets the following recommended specs:
- Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required)
- Intel Core i7-5820K or better
- GTX 1080 8GB
- 8GB+ Ram
Specific release dates for update 1.9 and the free high-res texture pack haven’t yet been nailed down but Bethesda says that both should arrive sometime next week.
