The Elder Scrolls Online is going temporarily F2P
ZeniMax Studios is hosting yet another free-to-play period for The Elder Scrolls Online, and this time around new players can really soak in the game’s atmosphere since the free period will last for nearly a week.
According to this announcement post on the official ESO website, the free-play weekend is available to users on both PC/Mac and PlayStation 4 (an active PlayStation Plus subscription is required if you want to play on the latter.) The free-play period is actually live right now, and will remain so until next Wednesday, December 6. While the free-play period is active, all new accounts will be granted 500 Crowns (premium currency), and both new and returning players can participate in the currently ongoing 10 million stories dungeon event, which can grant both in-game and real-life rewards.
The 10 Million Stories dungeon event runs during the same time period as the free-play period, so there’s no reason not to check it out if you’re already visiting the online world of Tamriel as a free player.
