Early Black Friday deals for PC gamers on Newegg
It’s that time of year again, when Black Friday deals come knocking at your door and you can save money on PC gaming hardware and accessories from GameCrate's parent company Newegg.
Let’s dive into some of the best deals for PC gamers that are already available today (Wednesday) for anyone that wants to get a jump on their Black Friday wishlist.
PC Gaming Made Easy
If you’ve ever wanted to get started with PC gaming or if you’re just looking to upgrade to a beefier rig, this pre-built system from ABS is a great enthusiast-level option that takes a lot of the stress out of getting your hands on a quality gaming PC for a great price.
For just under $1400 (about $300 off the normal price) the ABS Battlebox Essential Barrage comes with a top-of-the-line i7-7700K, 16 gigs of ram, and a GTX 1080. As a bonus, this rig also comes with a 2TB HDD and a 240GB SSD to make sure you have access to snappy startup times, near non-existent loading screens for games installed on your SSD, and plenty of extra storage for other games and digital media. It’s a great setup with tons of quality hardware that’ll give you plenty of raw horsepower to chew through anything on the market.
As if that wasn’t already enough, for a limited time you'll get Assassin’s Creed: Origins and Total War: Warhammer II for the low low price of free when you buy this system.
If you’re on the move a lot, a quality gaming laptop like the Acer Predator Helios 300 is the best option if you want to play the latest and greatest games in the industry without the hassle of transporting a desktop or console.
Thanks to the magic of the Black Friday wizards over at Newegg you can get your hands on the Helios 300 for under $1100, which is crazy considering it’s normally priced at $1399. A fact that gets even crazier when you look at the hardware packed in this tiny package.
The Helios 300 comes with a full size 6GB GTX 1060, an i7-7700HQ (with a core clock of 2.80GHz and a boost clock of up to 3.8GHz), 16GB of ram, and both a 128GB SSD and 1TB HDD to fill out all your storage needs. It’s everything you need to max out settings on triple A games at 1080p, and should be able to keep up with desktop PCs well into the future.
Here's what our sibling site Unlocked had to say about MSI's VR Raider laptop:
"The brains of this operation is an i7-7700HQ, backed up by 32GB of RAM. For storage, the Raider has 500GB SSD, along with a 1TB HDD, so space shouldn’t be an issue, though it is a shame that the SSD is SATA and not M.2.
But the real star of the show here is the 8GB 1070 GPU. Considering the Raider’s sporting a 1920x1080 screen, you’ll be able to run just about anything you can think of at upwards of 100 FPS.
We were getting 200+ frames in Overwatch, and a solid 110-120 for Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, which is a very graphically demanding game."
PC Parts on a Budget
Getting your hands on a card as powerful as a GTX 1060 for under $200 is a steal, and thanks to black Friday you can get your hands on the Asus’ GTX 1060 3GB Phoenix Fan Edition for $172.99 after a $20 mail in rebate, which is a great deal for a card that’s rocking 3GB of GDDR5, a core clock of 1506MHz and a boost clock of over 1700MHz.
If you’re looking to upgrade your GPU to something that’ll handle today’s triple-A titles but don’t want to break the bank, this card is more than enough to get you into high or ultra settings, depending on the title.
If you’re on a tight budget or just want to build a PC to take to LAN parties or to fill out all your micro-ATX needs, the EVGA Geforce GTX 1050 GAMING edition is a great option that comes in at just under $85. It’s a great price that nets you a card that’s perfect for light to medium titles like CS:GO, World of Warcraft, or League of Legends where FPS is often more important than maxing out settings across the board.
$85 might seem like a crazy price for a modern GPU, but keep in mind that this card is built for well-optimized or slightly older titles, and might struggle to his high or ultra settings in more current triple-A games or indie games that haven’t ironed all the kinks out of their engine yet.
It’s difficult to argue with a 1000W power supply that costs less than a $100, and this Rosewill Hive series PSU delivers just that, and also gives you a chance to drop the price to $89.99 after a mail-in rebate card. If you want to give yourself a lot of wiggle room to add an extra graphics card, extra fans and LEDs, plenty of peripherals, or just want to future proof for whatever comes down the road later on a 1000W PSU is a great investment.
The fact that Black Fridayhas made this 1000W PSU cheaper than most lower wattages PSUs makes the deal almost too sweet to pass up if you’re getting ready to build a new rig.
Of course if you’d rather have a PSU with a bit more power efficiency in the form of an 80 Plus GOLD standard sticker, consider the Corsair RM850x, an 850W PSU that’s only a hair more expensive than the Rosewill model above (if you don't mind buying a refurbished product).
This Xorsair PSU also comes with a free headset for its slightly higher overall cost of $104.99, although it’s $5 cheaper than the Rosewill model if you’re not planning on redeeming the Hive’s mail-in rebate.
It’s always smart to consider picking up a good SSD to either shorten boot times or to remove loading screens from your favorite games across the board. It’s even better when the Samsung 850 EVO, one of the most well-reviewed SSDs on the market, gets a price drop that puts it under $150. It’s even better when that price doesn’t include the discount code that’s valid on the store page thanks to Black Friday’s glorious effect on the prices of some of the best hardware on the market.
For under $150 500GB of SSD space is worth every penny, and the 850 EVO’s 540/520MBps Read/Write speed make it a fantastic choice for gamers that are tired of loading screens getting in the way of playing the games they want to play.
Of course, if you’re interested in getting your hands on a more affordable, fast, high-capacity drive with a little extra bonus on the side, this combo deal will get you plenty of speedy storage and a free copy of Assassin’s Creed: Origins to boot. The Seagate FireCuda Gaming SSHD 2TB Drive is a great hybrid SSD/HDD option that gives you improved read/write performance compared to a traditional 7200RPM HDD, but that isn’t anywhere near as expensive per terabyte as an SSD.
A drive like this can provide a massive increase in the number of games and the amount of raw media you can store. This hybrid drive is definitely worth picking up, especially if you were already looking for an excuse to explore Ubisoft’s new Assassin’s Creed title.
Peripherals on Point
A good gaming headset can make a huge difference, whether you’re trying to pick up enemy footsteps mid-match or if you’re trying to fully immerse yourself in a galaxy far far away, and Roccat’s Kave XTD 5.1 surround sound headset is one of the better options on the market, especially when it’s marked down by over 50% to just under $80.
As part of Newegg's Black Friday week deals you can get your hands on a headset with 5.1 speaker surround sound with leather circumaural muffs, a built-in mixamp, and a detachable LED mic all for $79.99. What’s not to love about a great headset for a great price?
If you’ve ever wanted to upgrade to a curved 144hz monitor that lets you see colors you’re used to only dreaming about, now’s your chance. The Samsung C27FG70 sports all the aforementioned features as well as a AMD’s FreeSync technology, which will work wonders on screen-tearing issues and help your mouse feel butter smooth in competitive and casual games alike.
Normally the Samsung C27FG70 would cost you just under $400, but with the promo code listed on the site combined with Newegg’s default discount you can pick this monitor up with all its bells and whistles for under $300.
Visit Newegg's Black Friday page for more deals all week long, and stay tuned to GameCrate as we highlight some of the best.
