Destiny 2 expansion, Warmind, arrives on May 8

In a brief road development update for Destiny 2, developer Bungie announced that the second expansion for the game will be called Warmind and will launch on May 8.

According to a post on Bungie’s website, the expansion will introduce players to “new places to meet new heroes and battle new enemies.” Players will also be able to earn new loot in new activities. The full reveal of Warmind will happen on April 24 on Bungie’s Twitch channel.

Meanwhile, Bungie is continuing to work on the game by adding Seasonal Crucible Rankings, private matches, and increasing vault space, among other features. Also, all Crucible maps for Warmind and Curse of Osiris will be available to all players, not just the ones who bought the expansions, on May 8. If you want to use expansion maps in private matches, however, you will have to purchase the associated expansion.

“The team is very excited to extend the roadmap and share with you some of the big stakes we’re putting in the ground,” said Game Director Christopher Barrett in the post. “Recent updates have focused on immediate issues to the live game, but in the coming months our vision for the future is converging with critical player feedback to deliver transformative changes to Destiny 2.

We’ll be diving deeper into each one of the listed items soon, and there’s even more we can’t quite talk about yet, but for now it’s all hands on deck to make sure we deliver on our promise to restore Destiny 2 to the hobby we all love. “
