Destiny 2’s PC version may launch later than console versions
Bungie’s highly anticipated sequel Destiny 2 is currently set for a September 8 launch on consoles, but some recent evidence suggests that fans might have to wait a little longer to play if they’re planning on getting the PC version.
Fans who were excited that the Destiny series is finally coming to PC had their excitement tempered somewhat when they discovered that Destiny 2’s Battle.net FAQ page didn’t provide a specific release date. In a recent interview with PC Gamer, Destiny 2’s game director Luke Smith offered further clarification on the matter:
“We haven’t committed to a PC date yet. At Bungie, we are totally committed to making the PC build as great as we can and we want to make sure this version of the game has the time it needs to bake in the oven so it’s a delicious piece of bread when it comes out.”
Now, it’s important to note that Smith’s comments don’t necessarily mean the PC version will come after the console versions, only that a final release date hasn’t been set. It’s entirely possibly Bungie will be able to release all three versions on September 8, but the studio is just covering its tracks in the meantime just in case.
