Capcom announces Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2

After the success of the original Mega Man Legacy Collections, Capcom is giving the same treatment to the X series. They have just announced Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2. Collection 1 will include Mega Man X, X2, X3, and X4, while Collection 2 will include X5, X6, X7, and X8. Both collections will come to the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on July 24.

As always, each title will have all of its original content along with a number of extras such as filters and display modes. Even the more modern polygonal PS2 titles will be getting a full HD remake. The collections will also include a gallery where you can view concept and promotional art for the series, a music player which will allow you to play your favorite tunes from each game, as well as some new and unreleased tracks, a movie player which will allow you to watch trailers for the many games as well as the anime movie, The Day of Sigma which details the origin story of Sigma, Zero, and Mega Man X, and a Product Gallery, which will allow you to see all the many action figures, collectors editions, and special releases that the series has received over the years.

However, the coolest new addition has to be the new X Challenge mode. In this mode you take control of X or Zero with brand new armor and upgrades and fight against two robot masters from the X series at the same time! We will likely get more details about this mode as we get closer to release.
