Bethesda has three major gaming projects in the works

Game developer Bethesda is mainly known these days for its excellent open-world RPG series’ The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, but according to studio head Todd Howard, the developer is planning to expand its portfolio in big ways over the next few years.

During a talk at this week’s DICE Summit, Howard discussed Bethesda’s long-term plans and hinted at a trio of projects which are still in the early stages of development, but which Howard is confident will wow gamers when they are revealed:

"We actually have three longer-term projects that are all — we'll talk about them at a much future date — they're different from anything we've done before while also being a Bethesda style game: big and crazy, but in many ways different from what we've done before."

Howard couldn’t elaborate on whether any of these upcoming projects are set in the Fallout or Elder Scrolls universes, but his exact wording makes it sound like they won’t be (or, at the very least, that they won’t be traditional open-world RPG’s).

In the meantime, Bethesda is also busy working on three different DLC packs for Fallout 4 which will add both new gameplay features and new story content into the game.
