Atari-branded hotels being developed in Phoenix, Denver, Vegas, other cities

In the era of Xboxes, PlayStations, and Nintendo consoles, Atari doesn’t get talked about too much. But there’s still a love from generations of gamers for the name Atari and what it meant to them growing up either at home with Atari consoles or in the arcades with Atari games.

Now the folks at Atari are looking to capitalize on that nostalgia with a roll out of Atari-branded and themed hotels. Yes, hotels!

“We are thrilled to partner with GSD Group and True North Studio to build the first-ever Atari branded hotels across the United States. Together we’ll build a space that will be much more than just a place to stay,” said Fred Chesnais, CEO of Atari. “Atari is an iconic global brand that resonates with people of all ages, countries, cultures and ethnic backgrounds and we cannot wait for our fans and their families to enjoy this new hotel concept.”

The first hotel will begin construction sometime this year in Phoenix, followed by hotels in Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, Austin, Seattle, San Francisco, and San Jose. Of course the hotels will be outfitted with arcades featuring the latest in gaming, including VR and AR, as well as venues and studios to accommodate esports tournaments and events.
