All future PS4 Slims will have a 1TB hard drive
Sony has announced that, from here on out, all PlayStation 4 Slim consoles (the new standard model) will sport a 1TB hard drive.
The announcement was made via Twitter with Sony also confirming that the console’s price will stay at $299.99 despite the hard drive size upgrade. The new hard drive size will become standard in both the U.S. and Canada, with 500GB models being discontinued in those markets. A specific date for when the 1TB consoles will start hitting store shelves wasn’t confirmed, but Sony says they should be available later this month.
Of course, if you’re still rocking a 500GB console, you can always just install a larger hard drive or, better yet, use an external one.
